About the author: This will be my first experience with having my work transformed into an audio book. I'm super excited to embark on this new adventure with the right narrator.
About this project:
I am looking to cast a narrator for the first two books in my time travel romance series, The Ripple Effect. The audio books will be sold on Audible/Amazon exclusively in the short term, possibly opening up to additional retailers in the longer term.
FEES
Payment with be Royalty Share Plus. A payment of $250 AUD per audiobook (currently about $165 USD per audiobook) will be paid to the narrator upfront. Then the narrator will earn 50% of the royalties from audiobook sales.

CHARACTER VOICES
The main character of the first two books in The Ripple Effect series is a 21-year-old Australian contemporary, well-educated female. Some of the other characters to be voiced include her father, grandmother, teenage brother, an Indian doctor, and her love interest who is a 25-year-old man who lives in the 1980's (it's a time travel story!).
BOOK 1 DESCRIPTION

When Caitlyn Richter turns twenty-one, she learns she’s inherited a disorder that causes her to travel through time uncontrollably. To make matters worse, one small change to the past can have massive consequences for the present. Caitlyn must do whatever it takes to leave the past unchanged.
Enter Toby Beech, a hot 1980’s carpenter who wants to spend as much time with her as possible, and who she finds herself falling hopelessly in love with.
Can she can force herself to stay away from Toby and keep her life in the present intact? Or will she follow her heart and risk the ripple effect, wreaking havoc on everything and everyone she loves?
SALES AND MARKETING
The Ripple Effect was released in e-book and paperback formats in September 2023 and has sold or loaned (through Kindle Unlimited) more than 2,700 copies. Aftermath (The Ripple Effect Book 2) was released in December 2023 and has sold or loaned (through Kindle Unlimited) more than 1,500 copies.
I plan to increase my marketing efforts as I reinvest all e-book/paperback royalties, so I expect sales to continue to grow as time goes on. I primarily advertise on Facebook ads and BookBub but have used (and will continue to use) a number of other promotional options as well.
I am constantly being asked whether the series is available in audio format, so I believe there will be a strong market when released.
OPEN TO NEW TALENT
Given my limited ability to pay much up front, I’m very open to narrators who don’t have much (or even any!) of a portfolio. Submit an awesome audition and you’ll be chosen! We’ve all got to start somewhere, right?
In saying that, I do need someone who has enough experience to handle the production of the audio themselves and provide a professional, quality product that meets industry-standard specifications.
Please note that the ultimate decision of which narrator is chosen will be made my readers – I plan to share my favourite two or three auditions and see which one they collectively like the best.
