About the author: The website provided is for the genre I have written in previously - mystery crime. This is the first in a series of adventure books aimed at 9-12 year olds
About this project: Oscar Typhoon is a humorous, fast-paced adventure for middle-grade readers (ages 9–12), featuring a bold and inventive boy who also happens to be dyslexic. The story blends light hearted moments with heart and imagination— farting bullies, secret missions, and magical creatures like the mysterious Shiraffe (half sheep, half giraffe). At its core, the book celebrates difference, resilience, and the power of thinking in unexpected ways. While it's designed to be fun and entertaining for all kids, it also offers a hopeful and validating experience for dyslexic children. I'm looking for a narrator who can bring warmth, energy, and humour to the performance, while capturing the emotional nuance of Oscar’s inner world. Oscar has a lively voice—clever, curious, and a little chaotic—and the narration should reflect that tone. While it’s not necessary to voice every character distinctly, some subtle variation would help bring the world to life. The ideal narrator will make listeners feel like they’re sitting beside Oscar on a wild and wonderful ride.
