About this project:

19 Nov 2024: The author has asked to withdraw the audition notice, as they have found their narrator. Apologies to those narrators who wanted to audition, but hadn't yet sent in their audition.

Flinder the reluctant hero is a bit of a throwback to classic kids chapter book stories - think Enid Blyton, or No flying in the house - stories with a bit of substance (and humour). Many years ago, the basic idea came to us as a guinea pig who learns to read the newspaper in his cage. I had even outlined a grown-up version where it was a hamster paralysed by media sensationalism haha. This incarnation, for kids 5-10, has always been intended to be a series, using the different locations as a portal to different cultures and lifestyles.
